Approach

 

Nia Morris Studio is a busy practice based in London and the Cotswolds specialising in residential interior design. We believe that good design of interior spaces can completely change the experience of living in them – not only should an interior be visually exciting but a detailed consideration of practical issues such storage, lighting and the flow from room to room is an essential part of the process.

We promote timeless design, steering clear of short-term interior fashions, create energetic and uplifting spaces that are a pleasure to live in, and encourage clients to commission makers and craftsmen to create bespoke pieces. We are great advocates of an eclectic approach – mixing vintage with new, a cool, linear interior with a big rococo statement piece, a monochrome colour scheme with a single splash of bright colour. This is not an "anything goes" approach but a carefully considered assessment of how pieces work together. This is apparent from the end results which feel cohesive and deliberate and anything but random.
 

Background

Nia has been designing residential spaces since 1997. She was a founding Director of both Studio Ohm and Cloud Design Studios, each of which has been recognised in well-regarded lists of top interior design practices including House and Garden's Top 100 Interior Design Practices and Elle Decoration's list of top 10 interior design practices in 2015. Nia established Nia Morris Studio in 2016 with the aim of establishing a presence in the Cotswolds where she now spends part of her time. 

After reading PPE at Oxford, Nia had a successful career as a finance lawyer in the City before a complete change of direction, pursuing a long-held desire to follow a more creative path.
